Default Time to repower .... Suzy DF140?

Time to spend more $$$

Is this "the" motor for the 20'?

The new yamie F150 looks to be 56lbs heavier.

Guys that have one, like, dislikes, cost?

Any other thoughts, i am looking into all options 2 or 4 stroke.

- Nick

BTW: Thanks Scott, Ronnie at Monahan's is the man.

Heres a 140 suzi 2 stroke for half the price
of the 4 stroke. If money is not a issue the
4 stroke w/6 year warr would be nice. I think
the Yam is too heavy.

Hello Nick-

I was a die hard Yamaha fan, have had twin 200's on the Contender and they have been flwless for over 500 hours.

However, I chose the Suzi 140hp 4S for my 20. I am in awe of this engine.

Never have I spent so little on fuel. I filled my 55 gal tank once back in August and have gone on 4 decent fishing trips. the tank now reads 2/3 full!!!

It is quiet, clean, efficient, less expensive than its competiters, proven, and lightest in its class.

As a bonus for me, my best friend, Scott Potter at Viking Marine is a dealer and is down the street from me.

I am thrilled with the engine, give Scott a call @ 401-682-2339.

So Jason, how is the boat? I haven't spoken to you since the cookout when the engine had just been put on.

Scott-

I love it!

Having run the boat for a month now I know I really love it.

Did you see your boat on the home page

Jason,

I talked to Scott at Viking, he was very helpful.

He has a used DF 115, that is tempting. I could be satisified, but i could use a few more pony's up to the DF 140 at the same weight.

What kind of speed/performance are you getting?

I am going to check out the show this weekend.

I may need to come down to listen to your baby purr before making a decision.

- Nick

BTW: Don, i am still very happy with the top/enclosure, especially this week, brrrrr .... get some sleep!

Nick-

You are always welcome to come down.

Give me a week for performance #'s as I have only looked at my speedo, through the engine pitot tube. I have not kept record of true GPS #'s.

With full tank, full crew 3 guys + gear and bait. I can hit 40MPH and cruise at 30mph.

This is with the speedo give me a week for GPS numbers. I suspect my sppedo is 2-3 mph high?

The most drastic performnce enhancer came from the trim tabs but I think you have a set?

I think you'll be happy with the Suzy 140. Brand wise they are reliable. HP wise, for comparison: I run a 130 Honda on my 20. WOT = 40mph gps at 5600 RPM with a medium load, yet I can troll as slow as 2.2 mph. A few more ponies and less weight will increase the top a bit, yet not be so much engine that you won't be able to slow troll (if that's your thing).
