Default Too much HP?

Hi Guys,

I noticed a few boats have exceeded the max HP rating of the boat. I am not a big speed freak on the water. When i do get the speed urge, i jump on my '93 VMAX to tear up the roads! (usually change my underwear upon return).

Questions : What happens (besides going faster) when you exceed the max HP rating on a boat? Does your insurance company care? Does the Coast Guard care? Does anyone care?

Nick,
I believe your insurance carrier can refuse to pay a claim if they feel the excessive HP was the cause of the incident causing the claim to be filed.
