Bow Rail for a Tsunami
My 1973 23' Tsunami has no bow rail. Does any one know of a source or do I need to get it made if I want it? I know on some sites it's the kind of thing that might come up in the classifieds on occasion but, the Tsunami seems rare enough compared to all the CCs here that I don't think it seems likely to pop up here.
Thanks for any leads, Jon

Re: Bow Rail for a Tsunami
Jon,
You can have the bow rail of my ‘85 SF for a small donation to my restoration fund. I don’t know how different the Tsunami rail is, but mine is in perfect condition and could probably be modified to fit.

Re: Bow Rail for a Tsunami
I believe the CC and Tsunami/Sceptre use the same raised bow rail (the tall one). There is also a short one on the Sceptres (not sure of the Tsunamis).

Re: Bow Rail for a Tsunami
That'd be great. I see you're in CT too which makes it even better. Do you need to get rid of it soon or can we wait till spring? Either way, I'm interested. How the hell will I get it though? How small can I break it down? Enough to fit in a Cherokee or a minivan? Wow, I'd given up hope on this. (actually to be honest, I prefer the looks without but it's high on my Dad's list of things to add). You just made my day, thanks.

Re: Bow Rail for a Tsunami
1973 Tsunami, FWIW, I have an original bow rail from my 1979 20 MA. It is complete except for one stansion base, which is probably buried around the base of a wood pile the rail has been resting on. Anyway, fully assembled with all (four?) stansions, it sat perfectly inside a six foot bed of a small Toyota pick up, with about one foot protruding out the center of the tailgate. Easy transport. Hope this helps. Vezo, Part II.

Re: Bow Rail for a Tsunami
very helpful thanks, No way it'd fit in the cherokee but I'll take the tape to Dad's minivan, seems like a likely fit, otherwise I'll have to recruit a buddy's full size chevy p/u.

Re: Bow Rail for a Tsunami
The bow rail for my 23 is out behind my barn and will be o.k. until spring if necessary. It is approximately 8’W x 8’L if you need to fit it in a van you could cut it at the joint in the bow. Once you have it installed on your boat you could have a local shop weld it back together for you. Let me know if you are still interested.

Re: Bow Rail for a Tsunami
I am still interested. I might have to chop it and reweld a bit but if it fits then I have no problem with that. If you're not in a big hurry do you mind if we wait until I get the winter cover off and we can do some measurements to make sure it's the right fit. It's not the recessed bow rail like on the newer models is it? I need some height for something to hold on to while on deck above the cuddy cabin.

Re: Bow Rail for a Tsunami
I have a '75 Tsunami w/ a bow rail. FYI: My bow rail is (2) pcs - the 'joint' being at the bow, held in place by a stock V-shaped, joint-fitting. Are you sure yours is not in (2) pcs too ? |

Re: Bow Rail for a Tsunami
Spring is fine, let me know when you want it. It is a high bow rail, see pic.
