Default Another Prop ?

I just bought a 2000 Yamaha Salt Water Series II. I will be putting it on my 76 20ft SF when I am finished with it. It has a 14x17 prop. Is this the optimal prop? Does anyone have a good guess what kind performance I might get with that or suggestions on a better prop.
Thanks for any help.

HP needed, althouth you will to run it first to get an RPM at max to determine which size.

I have a 115 E-tec running a 15p on my 20 CC, seems just about right for my boat. I also think the 17p will be a good fit for your boat with the 150hp.

I think you'll be somewhere in the in mid 40's with a 17 pitch. Just depends on how fast that motor will spin the prop. You want to make sure you prop that motor so it can turn at least 5500rpm at WOT. Also . . . make sure that the cavitation plate lines up about an 1" or 2" above the bottom of your hull. That makes a big difference in LU drag and the props ability to ventilate.
