Default looking at buying a restored 23' 86...any tips?

I'm looking at buying a 23' SeaCraft – 2006 Yamaha 250 4-stroke with 134 hours. new foamcore decks. 150 gallon fuel tank. Wiring, pumps, switches, “everything electrical.” Steering, Furuno navnet, vhf, stereo with satellite, live well, canvas, cushions and bow dodger. Comes with aluminum trailer. All work completed at L&H Boats in Stuart.

What questions I should be asking?

was the transom redone, and how does it sit in the water? The 1986 hulls have a small splash gate between the well and the cockpit. The F250 is heavy, check how she sits loaded in the water and put her stern to the seas.

I saw the boat on Craigslist and for the $ it looks like a nice rig, the engine alone was close to the asking price.

Keep us updated

My boat is a 86 23'CC with a 250 Yamaha 2 stroke. The boat ran and handled excellent when I got it with the exception of a little water on the floor in the back. I really feel that was more of a scupper problem than a weight problem. The boat at one time had twin 150s do'nt know brand. I was and am more than satisfied with the boat. My transom had to be rebuilt because of 250 being mounted on top of thru hull over flow from livewell when the motor was torqued down it cracked the glass around it and got water intrusion. Since transom had to be rebuilt I went ahead and enclosed transom and added bracket. Im sure I paid more for my boat than what the boat on Craigs list is going for but I would do it again.
