4th run

This is my 4th weekend since obtaining my first Seacraft, and we have gone out every weekend.

Today we put in at Panacea, visited a beach you can only reach by boat and then went to the Ochlocknee Bridge.

Hi Tom-
Glad you are enjoying your SeaCraft and your family in it. Here is a comment for future consideration. The seas look calm and it looks like you may have a full splashwell like I added to my '76 20' Seafari, (think I sent you photos). But, I knew a guy who swamped his boat (not a SeaCraft) somewhere near Sanibel. He anchored from the stern with the bow up on the sand- think a big wake got him. I always anchor from the bow and slowly back into the beach, while trimming up. Step up onto the swim platform into knee deep water, then set a smaller anchor in the sand. Of course in my Seafari this is the easiest way to exit the boat and the boat rides well while you are enjoying the beach.

Not to mention that the sand will wear at the gelcoat on the bottom. Not very much at a time but it adds up over the life of owning a boat.

thanks for the words of wisdom, my boat currently has a painted piece of plywood but I was thinking about fabricating a piece of fiberglass to replace it with, but I will remember what both of you said regarding beaching the boat.

I got to thinking. I replaced my splashwell with fiberglass several years ago and the one piece of teak that I took off has just been sitting around in the weather and looks it. It is still very straight and I think it can be brought back to life. It measures about 11"x 55". If you think you can use it, its yours.

Glad to see you are enjoying your new Seacraft. So jealous of your weather.

Today it was blowing hard and unseasonably cold here in Southern Maine. My brother lives in Stowe, VT and they had 1-3 inches of snow on May 16th!!

We had snow one year on June 7th in Woodstock.
Is Ski Inn still in Stowe?

Tom, have you gone on four consecutive trips without breaking anything?
What is that like?
