It's really a disease...
So, after "selling" my '71 Seafari to a parishioner, (who asked me to keep it at the church, tells me to use it all I want, and has only used it himself one time), in early December I found and purchased an '88 18' Superfisherman CC, with the original '87 Mariner 115 inline 6 O/B on it. Been in storage for 16 years, except for a brief appearance on the water in 2007. Original hour-meter shows 159 hours.
Original owner had a stroke in 2002, passed away in 2009. Boat sat in an actual barn until the estate was settled. Grandson got the boat and went to get it running and balked at the estimated $1700 cost of cleaning the fuel tank, and the carbs, and repairing the rusted brakes on the trailer. Boat is in very, very good condition. I pulled and cleaned the tank, bought complete carb kits including new idle jets, and am unsure if I'm even going to mess with the brakes, or just put new brakeless hubs on it. Wait, here comes the good part...I have just been GIVEN my Seafari back. Merry Christmas! I now once again have 4 boats. It's a disease, I tell you...

Fr Frank you're living right! Those 18's are neat. Share some photos and lets see her splashed.

Working on the carbs this morning until I have to make an urgent run to the Dentist. I bit into a firm pear last night and my front bridge came loose.
(My major dental issues are literally the result of yet another injury while doing youth ministry. In this case it was a knee to the face while playing tag with a bunch of middle-schoolers 30 years ago. Man, working with kids is TOUGH!) I hope to get all the carburetors off and onto the workbench this morning. I've already serviced the lower unit and water pump, and replaced the trim solenoids. It's a bit frosty outside this morning, though. I also removed the giant Tracker decals last week, and replaced them with plain SeaCraft decals. The name of the boat will be, (in Greek letters) Eleuthero, which is the past tense of the verb "Free". It means "Set Free" or "Freed Slave". The Bahamian Island Eleuthera means "Home of the Free" or "Place of Freedom".

Haha, Slacker!
What a time capsule there. The boot stripe has to go. |

I agree on losing the stripe. But I will replace it with a plain 1" red or black stripe.
