I've got a 65qt RTIC, kinda heavy but it will hold ice! Plus, I also have an Iceytec (SP?) cube shape 60qt, that fits perfectly in the front of the 23'er, it also holds ice good.
I'm with ya, YETI's are bit too $$$$ proud of their product! |

F-Yeti ! After they went WOKE on the NRA, that was it for me. Also have Lifetime from Wally World, works great. Secret to all those are they are copper lined, hence the great R value.

"F-Yeti ! After they went WOKE on the NRA, that was it for me!"
I'm with ya Bro!! I know the "big guys" could care less about little 'ol me, but it sure makes me feel sooooo much better to spend my hard earned money at the Patriot backed companies versus the Woke screwballs. You will never see me again in a Dicks Sporting Goods, or on line! Next is the ESG crap they are sticking down our throats.....I'm watching. |

With any cooler, the first thing you need to do is fill it with water. Close the lid . Then tip it too it's side. If water comes out its letting air in. AIR KILLS ICE !-----> shit can it or return it for the haircut $$$ you spent buying it.
The first one I got rid was Igloo cheap plastic hinges & lid latch. The second one I now use to store my boat spare parts in,was a Icey-tek made with overseas junk. RTIC should give you a good product for a decent price. I have owned many brands over my 60 years of boating. I was fortunate to get the best at www.FrigidRigid.com when pricing was affordable. Only cooler made in the USA online only with top self stainless hardware and tight D recessed groved lid. Custom built in rubber corner feet (no deck scratching or slipping) give them a look and have a cooler that will last the life of your boating years.

I gotta tell ya, I would never pay retail for a Frigid Rigid. That said, I was fortunate enough to score 2 last year from individuals. One 81 qt and their 110 qt leaning post/tackle combo. Absolutely keeps ice better than anything I've used except a freezer.
