Water Stains

The Dollar Tree store sell's a fiberglass cleaner called "THE WORK'S", you put it on with a flat mop, let it set for a few then hose it off (it works)! All for $1.00.

If you are talking about the brown stains you get from sitting in the water a few days I found a cheap solution. I got tired of buying bottles of the cleaner for about $12.00 or so and noticed the active ingredient in one of them was oxalyic acid, the same as in barkeepers friend. I took about 1/4 of a can of BK and mixed well with about 2 gals. of water and used a garden sprayer and sprayed the entire bottom in short order. I let it sit about 2-3 minutes and washed if off with water. My hull was very stained as I had left it in the water for 7 days while on vacation. Never again do I plan on using the expensive stuff as the BK worked great.

My favorite "Dontput the boat in the water!" I have used the Mary Kate and it works great but takes the wax off also. Will try the others too. I guess I will just learn to live with it! Even after waxing it this weekend and only 5 hours in the river with the kids it starts to show back up. [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

What do I order the BK Cleanser, the liquid, the Lime & Rust remover, the Toilet Bowl stuff or how about I take my chances and get the "Surprise Package"


Maybe I'll just order that cute little girl with the Apron to clean the boat for me!
