I don't see a patch at the bottom either even thou the hull indentation on the outside is still there. I cut in the tee you see spiced into the drain. I added a gutter system in the floor deck hatch so any water would run off to the floor scuppers vs sealing the hatch. You can see the drain holes in the aft corners

Hummmm, vaguely famliar...I'll have to look a little closer.
My olny experience with a 23cc's guts is in my other one with a twin i/o setup. That whole deal in the stern is very different.
It wasn't until Scott showed pictures of his. that I saw the simularities.

And...I'm still be willing to bet that, that setup in the vette is stock.

When Mike replaced my transom he ran them out the sides. they work great, and no worries about it damaging the transom by going thru it.I wish they would of done them this way in 1973, I probaly would of still had a transom.

Smoker,

Can you post a pic of your drains out the side??
I'm going to be redoing the drains and I'm still not sure what is best.
Thanks

I don't care for the Rabuds. The T-H one's are better. They have a stop screw that you back out a little and then you can give a 1/4 twist to remove them and clean the ball when it get's dirty. With the Rabuds you have to remove all the screws and unbed them.

I like the slightly smaller rabuds better because the T-H scuppers have too much room in the clear case. At rest, the very slight pressure allows the ball to float off of the hole, allowing water in. I made the switch, and wish I hadn't. Now I usually plug the rear drains to keep water out.

Pogden, I was refering to the drains for the corner compartments on the transom, not the scuppers. Sorry for the misunderstanding.RS.
