I hope this wasn't a dumb question. I wanted to get opinions on what if any problems I could be creating by doing the repower first rather than gutting the boat and starting from bottom up. I have to phase this so if I take the gut approach, I'll be boatless for two years which I am hoping to avoid.

I think your time sequence is appropriate. I don't know what year your boat is, but anything close to the 25 year age, a transom redo might be in order. As long as your under the deck back aft, most transom replacements are done from the inside [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] It appears your plans are for a total refurb. You might as well do it right the first time (regardless of the time) vs a band-aid repair and have to back pedal later on [img]/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img]
