Mike,
I read a really interesting article about Cabo in a boatbuilding trade magazine last year (can't remember name of mag). It's quite a success story. The interesting part is reading their explanation of building boats in the desert. It certainly doesn't seem to hurt business any. |

I am on the West Coast, but a few miles north of you, right on the Canadain border in Bellingham, WA. I have an 89 Seacraft 23WA which I purchased new from Hawleys. They went out of business when they lost their Bay Liner franchise. They carried the SeaCraft line for one season, they sold 3, 23WAs and one cuddy and a couple of 19-20 CC. I think the other 3, 23s went to Alaska. I have the only 23 WA in this area.

Hey little minnow, I import and make fishing gear all for big game. I fish Mako shark, Marlin, tuna ect. My new prodject is to try and catch a swordfish at night. If you want next year I'll take you out to the best shark grounds I know of. Mako, thresher and maybe billfish.
I don't know how many boats on the west coast but if there is enough, I'll sponser a west coast gathering. Catalina run? My other hobby is working on boats. If you ever need to work on your boat, I have a complete shop just for that. Set up for any machine shop wood or metal and even glass. Your more then welcome to use it if you need. BigMike

Fishing in this area is bad to lousy right now. A few salmon on the outside of San Juan Island, so you have to be willing travel 35-40 miles to have a chance for (1) one fish. I was out w/couple friends yesterday, not even a bite for salmon and all we caught were a couple of sand sharks(dogfish) and a few small Lingcod, which you cannot keep. If one wants salmon, you have to travel up into Britsh Columbia, Canada. They manage thier fishery so much better than WA state could even dream about. If one wanted to catch humpies,(pink salmon) then the Everett area 80 miles south of us has a few, but I would not waste a gallon of gas to get one, they are just a junk fish, the roe (eggs) are worth more than the fish. We keep hearing that the fish are late coming in.
