A hydraulic system is very easy to install. All the new systems consist of a helm & cylinder with just two hoses connecting the two. Nothing is high pressure, just fill the system with oil & turn the steering wheel back & forth to fill the system. Easy. If you shop, you can find a new system for under $500.00 on E-Bay, in this sites classified, ScreamAndFly.com, etc...LoveMySeaCraft
