A lot of people around here use those colored pennant thingies that you see at a used car lot. They are attached to a line/rope. It seems to work well. The owl is useless, although some guys claim if you move it around it keeps the gulls on their toes and away from the boat.

I worked on a little Island down in MeXico a couple of Years & I saw something there that just might work for Ya! On some of the Upper class folks court yards they would place bottles on top of there concrete walls ,cemented on.Then they would break the bottles into pieces. There were jagged bottles on the tops of walls outer edges of stores,fences,walls etc, Stops the unwanted including cats,Iguanas,& likes fo' sho' Just set some of those colorful beer bottles up there set in the 5200 sealent You opened up for a 5 min. job. Using colored beer bottles will give You the eXcuse for dinking all those Strange Beers Your Wife buys for Ya!
