Newbe
Hello, some may know me from Classic Mako, first time over here for a visit. Great website, very informative. The reason for my intrest is I bought a 3 boat lot of retired DNR boats yesterday and one of them was a very unmolested 1976 model 20 center console. It came with a 1981 Mariner 175 in good shape and a good trailer. The gelcoat still shines on this boat, the floor and all the hatches were always covered with snap in carpet. It has a very unique bench seat/cooler combo. Actually slides forward and back on aluminum tracks. The boat has normal wear and tear for a 30 year old hull. Up here in the north country we have a 3 month season. Transom is solid as it has had a aluminum plate on it from Day one(acording to servicing dealer) The live wells dont even smell fishy. Any Ideas what I should ask for this boat?? Thanks dave.
what do you guys think thanks dave

Re: Newbe
Welcome Aboard Dave.
A little introduction about michigandave. I got to meet him in Destin,Fl. this past May 2005 at the 1st Classic Mako Fundment. he's a pretty sharp guy. Does all his own work. He dibbles and dabbles in diffrent make's of boat's all the time. Mostly better built boat's. Whaler's, Mako's and now scored a SeaCraft. One of the guy's at the Fundment in May blew a foot on a 2 thirsty 5 Rude. Dave was the 1st to jump in and help pull the foot and we found a replacement to get the fellow going again before the weekend was gone. |

Re: Newbe
Thanks Bobby, I have had some interest in the Seacraft from both websites. I understand the Seacraft.com policy for the 25 dollar charge for advertisment. While this didnt start out as a "for sale" its kind of ending up that way. So I will certainly follow thru with that if a Seacraft member gives her a new home. Want2fish, I sent you a PM, dave.

Re: Newbe
Thanks, BTW when was the last time you saw a Potter built hull with some of the original seat cushions? (the seats have been done but not the backs.) Looks like the boat will be going to a good home, it will get the respect and care it deserves. thanks dave.

Re: Newbe
I read the following at ClassicMako.com
You posted " I posted the pics of the Seacraft over on there website because I thought it was a cool find. Not even a "hello and welcome" from that crowd. "Theres no place like home" . Course maybe not as many followers over there. dave. " Let me get this straight you come to this site, sell your boat to a member (without paying the $25.00 fee) and then complain to others on another site that we are un-welcoming? You are kidding right? what are you looking for here? If you purchased the boat to restore and if you are a finatic about Seacrafts I am sure you would find plenty of help and comradarie here but ill comments about this group on other site really PISSES ME OFF |

Re: Newbe
Hay no reason to get angry, It was a couple of days before anyone said hello and then it was Warthog. I did believe many folks from this site would be interested in seeing a stock, good looking 20sf from back in the Potter days. And yes, if not welcome, I will head on back home now. The prospective buyer is both a Mako and Seacraft member so only fair to send half to each website for support. I started off by asking if anyone could give me a value on what I should ask for the boat. I guess no one knows. I wonder if my handle was "good ol boy dave" or "east coast dave" if you all might have been kinder. no matter
have a nice day. dave
