In fact I was a sailor that crewed on the Yankee Clipper, sailed out of the port of Miami,295' Clipper ship built in the 1930s in Germany, worked in the galley and sailed the entire Bahamas when I was a teenager.Greatest time of my life.

What is ion propulsion?
Ion propulsion is a technology that involves ionizing a gas to propel a craft. Instead of a spacecraft being propelled with standard chemicals, the gas xenon (which is like neon or helium, but heavier) is given an electrical charge, or ionized. It is then electrically accelerated to a speed of about 30 km/second. When xenon ions are emitted at such high speed as exhaust from a spacecraft, they push the spacecraft in the opposite direction.

The ultimate speed of a spacecraft using ion thrust depends upon how much propellant it carries; indeed, the same principle applies to chemical propulsion systems, although they are much less efficient. The ion propulsion system on Deep Space 1 carries about 81.5 kilograms of xenon propellant, and it takes about 20 months of thrusting to use it all. It increases the speed of the spacecraft by about 4.5 kilometers per second, or about 10,000 miles per hour. If we had the same amount of chemical propellant, it would provide only one tenth as much velocity increment.

Hmmm, 10,000 miles an hour seems a bit high for my boat, I guess I'll stick with gas and keep my eyeballs in front of my face, not out the back!

This may be old , Juz' got it.

Cindy & Chavez

It's true:

Venezuela Dictator Vows To Bring Down U.S. Government

Venezuela government is the sole owner of Citgo gasoline company

Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the U.S. government. Chavez, president of Venezuela, told a TV audiance (link) : "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century."

The guest on his television program, beamed across Venezuela, was Cindy Sheehan, the antiwar activist. Chavez recently had as his guest Harry Belafonte, who called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world."

Chavez is pushing a socialist revolution and has a close alliance with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Regardless of your feelings about the war in Iraq, the issue here is that we have a socialist dictator vowing to bring down the government of the U.S. And he is using our money to achieve his goal!

The Venezuela government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole owner of Citgo gas company. Sales of products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government.

Take Action!

Please decide that you will not be shopping at a Citgo station. Why should U.S. citizens who love freedom be financing a dictator who has vowed to take down our government? CITGO Petroleum is the operating subsidiary of PDV America, itself a subsidiary of Venezuela's PDVSA.

Very important. Please forward this to your friends and family. Most people don't know that Citgo is owned by the Venezuela government.

I do think They nake a Cute Couple!

I've seldom bought gas at a Citgo unless it was the only one around and the needle was on "Help!" Who really owns Mobil/Exxon?
