Default Re: I found a 65 Bowrider!

Carla, The '65 I bought was on ebay a couple of years ago, and I came very close to buying it then but didn't, and had been really regretting not buying it ever since. So when it came up for sale again I had to jump on it! It's an I/O, and I'm about to switch in a newer Mercruiser engine and outdrive that is currently in my '70 Seafari. The Seafari is going to be a big project; transom, and who knows what else........But the '65 Bowrider is going in the water soon!

We've got two of the oldest (and classiest) boats on this site, and I'm looking forward to seeing how you do with yours. I'll be posting some pictures of mine soon.

I was driving down I-95 on Sunday and if I'm not mistaken I saw them driving it down near Palm Beach or maybe a little more north

Nice boat !!!!!

I slowed down to look at her and I liked what I saw which even if it was another boat.

It had a name on the side but I can't recall what if was now

Hey GeorgeinMiami, if it was late Sunday, yellow hull with "Lady" on the side, then that was us!!!!

I took some pictures today, this is only after a cleanup & no work done....

Gorgeous?

Original Steering Wheel & Guages

For you engine people...a 140 merc...very old

By the way, I've started a list of yr & hull numbers for the bowriders. If you know yours, please pass it on to me.
And yes, the bowriders should dominate! They are more rare & harder to find than the cc's.
Also, I've noticed there's no specs or photo gallery set up for the 19' Bowriders....How do we get it added?
Thanks, Carla

It must really be a small world when it comes to bowriders!!! The same one as mine, only now titled to me.
Soooo, you mean you knew about this boat & didn't tell me?!!! (just kidding)
At least we all know it floats!!!
PipeDream...you've got a good one being in the family all these years...do you still have all the original paperwork?

Carla, I think I came upon that photo during a late night google search for "Seacraft Bowrider". Just the photo, and nothing else on the page.......Yes it is a small world!

So, are you using the motor and drive that's on the boat, or re-powering? I'm trying to decide whether to get what's in my boat working for now, or just take the plunge and switch over to the newer Alpha I gen. II unit and newer motor I have.

Well, Don, It's at least partly your fault that I now own a Bowrider.

So you grew up with this boat? we always had outboard skiffs, but back in the 60's my uncle had a really cool boat that the BR reminds me of.

I'll post some pics and we can start our own 19' section in the galleries.
