I have been working on it, and making little progress.
The contact at Deltona Mold did turn out to be too costly to make an injection mold ($15,000), so I've been experimenting with different products from the 'hobby' stores to make the mold. From the responses on this post, I'm estimating about 20 emblems, so trying to stay away from the expensive mold prep. If epoxy would be too brittle, is there an additive that would make it stonger? How would you apply a chrome film to the inside of a mold prior to pouring the apoxy?

Its reversed! The bottom of the Mold is actually the top of the emblem.Couple of ways its testing & Timing(Cruicial).
Leave the mold inverted & apply the film on top when its almost cured & still tacky,2 Lay the film on a hard surface & invert the mold with resin on top of it,Press on the mold to seat the film. How bout a 3rd-Just mix a Fine Chrome metallic flake to the mixture the pour? It'll be shiny-Bet a Coon would play with it!First way is the best... But from eXperiance Unless Your gonna Monunt them on something & hang-em' on the wall They'll snap. They(original) look like the typical "POT METAL" emblems. Tug ![]() Too bad Ya don't have another one??? I'd try a couple of things but don't want to jepordiZe the Original!

If you know a potter, I think you might be able to press it
into some clay and then fire it. Then use the ceramic "mold" and fire it again with it full of bronze or brass shavings. My babe does pottery and has a kiln. |

Capt. Brad,
I wish I did have another emblem as I would be glad to send it to you for experimentation. Your concept sounds interesting, could you PM or email me with a little more info? 1bayouboy, I used to do some clay work & actually have some clay. I'll try working with it today & see how well it picks up the detail. I really do appreciate all your ideas and input. Thanks.

You need to contact a casting company that performs spin casting or lost wax investment casting. Those are the processes used in jewelry, art and other industries. They are suited to low cost reproduction of non ferrous metal parts.

NOT TO ADD MORE THOUGHT TO IT BUT WHAT ABOUT CNC ALUMINUM AND POLISH THE FACE. WITH THE EMBLEM YOU HAVE IN HAND IT SHOULDN'T BE HARD TO CNC A REPLICA AND POLISHING THE LETTERS SHOULD BE EASY. IT WONT BE CHEAP FOR THE FIRST ONE BUT AFTER THE FIRST ONE BUT THERE AFTER SHOULD BE MUCH LESS ?

Thank you for all the input given, resulting in lots of resarch.
Results - Plastic ones can be made for about $50/pair, $5 extra for color other than black, plus shipping. No minimum order. Stainless Steel ones can be made, 304 mirror SS, 1/8" thick, laser cut, for $55 per emblem or $110/pair, (incl $1 for CSC), plus shipping. Minimum order of 50 (or 25 boats). The emblem would change slightly due to the characteristics of laser cutting thru SS, no relief capabilities. The "SeaCraft" script would be the same, and two waterlines boxed in, dropping the 'Miami Fla'. This is a local shop, giving me a major discount to help make it happen. It would take approx 4 weeks from start to finish. Disadvantage, it would be one production run with the exact quantity ordered. Are there 25 boats that would order these? The SS would be more expensive, but then beautiful. I would be 'fronting' the money, so please respond only if your are serious. Thank you, Carla
