Way more HP needed - you need at least 300 with twins but big singles work better 225 and up- up is better

If you have children have them help post pics to photobucket. If not pray real hard and ask for help. I finally accessed your referenced website. Nice site. I need to get with you on your trailers. Great to have another Seacraft owner in the Houston area. There are alot of these crafts here but not many members of this website. Lets get in touch.

You got it! I was looking real hard for a straight shaft but they are hard to find between 23-25 ft so I got this one I had a couple of Shammy's but the 20 CC was to small and I didnt like the narrow beam and low free board so this will be it for a few yrs till I find a inboard.

Another Houston area member...I have returned to Texas from Florida after 6 years (in exile)!

With three boys under 5 I am looking forward to fishing Lake Conroe and Lake Livingston for the next few years.

Stop by some time and say high! Well I have had HYDRO-STREAMS with Bridgeports on the back I sure dont think I would like to run a little old 23 SC with twin 300's or my 250's for that matter they are good boats but for a 23 I would put them on the light weight side they arnt very heavy, I got it up and running ordered all the yammy rigging and Sea Star for it the old Hyn is not going to be repairable.

I don't think so, Dixon. I rigged a number of 23's back in the mide 80's with everything from twin 85hp V4's to twin 235 Evinrudes. The twin 85's worked just fine, although they were minimal. Top speed of about 28-30 mph, and a little slow to plane. Twin 235's put you around 60 mph, as I recall.

I think a pair of 115's, or 130's will work fine. The problem is weight. Modern 115's are all nearly 400 lbs, even the new Etecs. Twin Etec 115's or Optimax 115's will certainly be adequate power.

However, I agree with the idea of a single motor in the 250-300 hp range as a better choice, as long as you add a reliable 8-15 hp kicker motor for long runs offshore.
