Perty bote in...deeeeeed

The last time I bought a prop for the Seafari I was too busy crying over how much I payed for it to pay attention to the pitch however I don't think I would be of much help anyway as I'm about 10 mph behind already

Possibly more info is required but hopefully Fr. Frank might chime in.

Don't show strick these pictures!! 454 sounds like a good match for the boat. What kind of economy are you getting with the mirage 19p at cruise?

A Merc Rev 4 really improved a boat I have it's stern heavy and the Rev 4 has great stern lft as well as holding it on plane at lower speeds.

I like the Mirage, but some are getting better mid-range performance and economy wit 4 blades, but at the cost of a couple MPH in top end.
Rev 4, or 4B Trophy are worth a try. Better yet, contact the guys at PowerTech and ask about the OFS 4 blade.

Ken,
I have a '78 23' Sceptre with same power, a 7.4 liter (454ci), 330hp carb. engine and Bravo One drive. I'm also using a 19" Mirage Plus 3 blade. I'm curious to know what drive and ratio you have, as I seem to have roughly the same numbers as you, and wondering if a different wheel might be better.

Chris:

I am also running the same prop and outdrive. I am not sure of the ratio. I thought an 18p 4 blade would do nicely with the setup we have.
