Nice work! I really like the live well set up...I wanted to do that on my old 23 but chicken out. What sized shaft motor is going on that bracket?

thanks guys. strick i am putting a 25'' 225 e-tec on it. plan to mount the bracket tommorow. the bracket is 19 1/4''tall in the front & 25 1/2'' tall in the back. my plan is to mount the front of the bracket at 22 1/4'' on the transom which should put the back of the bracket at 28 1/2''. sound right to you?

Not sure what you mean. Are you mounting the top of the bracket at 22 1/4" down front the top of the transom on the boat?
My main concern is that the brackets transom (back of bracket) is 25 inches tall and you are mounting a motor with a 25 inch shaft. Most brackets have a transom height that is shorter then the shaft length of the motor to allow for adjustment of the motor up or down. Your anticavitation plate will be at the same level of the bottom of the keel of the bracket at your motors lowest mounting point. If you have to move the engine up (most of us do) then your anticavitation plate will be obstructed by the bracket. The way you have your bracket constructed you you will have to place your bracket in exactly the right place because you will have no vertical adjustment of the motor once it's mounted. If you go with a 30 inch shaft motor you will have more room for vertical adjustment of the motor. The rule of thumb is that the motor needs to be raised 1" for every foot of set back however more often then not you will raise it a little higher then that.

strick the bracket will be mounted at 221/4'' above the keel to the top of the swim platform that will put the top of the bracket where the motor mounts at 281/2''from the keel. all the boats i see without a bracket all have a 20,25,or30''transom so there is no way you could lower a motor on those boats. in the past i've run all my motors a little higher up off the transom, less drag. using the 1'' per foot rule would put me at 271/2'' keel to top of bracket. i'm going to try 1.5'' per foot and hope i don't need to lower it
