Danny, we better circle back around and pick up the stragglers before it's too late. So here is what I understand is the synopsis -

Fall Florida West Coast Gathering - November 7 - 9, 2014
Cabbage Key / Cayo Costa (Boca Grande, Fla.)

Tentative Draft Agenda (*)
Friday - 4:00 PM Cocktails - Cantina de la Kmoose
7:00 PM Dinner - Cabbage Key
Saturday - Fish, boat, BS, Dive, beach walk, raid Connor's Oyster bar, etc.
12:00 SeaCraft Parade to Doc Ford's (Ft. Myers beach) for Lunch
4:00 PM Cocktail Hour Cayo Costa
6:00 PM cookout at Casa del la Costa
Sunday - Wine flu recovery and ease toward the ramp

(*) yet to be approved by Snookerd, Commodore, Southern Seacraft Command.

There are several (numerous) oyster beds near Terry's. Oysters are at the waterline at low tide. They average kind of small, you have to cull a lot to get 3 inchers, but believe me, that is no problem, there are enormous numbers of them. When we get closer, I'll be calling for volunteers to help me gather and shuck.

Very tasty, tangy, saltier than Apalach oysters, more like New England. I like'em best chilled on the half shell, add a little bit of fresh water to the ice and they are a lot like Apalach. Also outstanding roasted or in oyster soup.
