You have been inside my brain while I was sleeping again I see. I also wondered what could be achieved with 2 steps on a race hull and the newer steps we see.

Sometimes I feel like a scarecrow.

Amazing #s with a single.

Cheers,

Sandy – I don't normally say that you and I are always on the same page with our thinking… but I have to admit, The addition of the sidestep hull was always part of my thoughts on a future, modern VDR concept.

Nice tease on that interior gunwale work -- how bout some more eye-candy for our woody, err, our woody fans
McGillicuddy,

What you are seeing on the inside is diagonally planked western red cedar. The hull was built cold molded over a male jig. All the stringers and bulkheads indexed into the jig prior to sheeting. The laminates of cedar are the plug surface which was sealed before the carbon fiber and core-cell laminates were infused. This made for an extremely stiff and lightweight hull.

Thanks,
Steve

By the way, have you done anything to your old Moesly hull yet? I have finished some testing with mine and started taking it apart.
Thank you... No, the race hull is still sitting patiently waiting.
