Re: some final touches
very, very nice. the red lights look nice, they will work fine I am sure. It would be nice if they "flowed" more and weren't so directional. Maybe it is just the picture.
I wish that was all I had to worry about right now.

Wow...
This came out amazing, excellent work! Saw you at Bahrs in your Yellowfin Sunday, kind of hard to miss that boat. That is one sweet rig as well. I was drifting the Highlands bridge worming some short bass.

Sorry temporarily influenced by some dude in Dixie... Solvent based finishes gas off numerous hydro-carbons (against Al Gore's will) but virtually all plant flowers also gas off alkane hydro-carbons - pentothane, hexane, heptane, whatever (that's the fragrance they put out). I spray a lot of lacquer and I really notice different fragrances/odors of different colors, pale yellows, for example, really smell like bananas.. some other studies have shown color affinities from bugs as well, if they're landing on blue paint maybe they like blue bonnets or blue orchids... Ain't really an entomologist but I've always been able to match the hatch on fly fishing trips -- Shuks, that awl I got fer ya, heh, heh

Re: Bugs!
Guys sorry for the late response, I really apprecaite all the nice comments about the boat. I will add some pics of it in the water in a couple of days. I have put 40 hours on the boat already and it runs great, I know a couple of people were wondering about the scuppers I put in. The work awsome, I have got very little water in the boat and when I wash the deck off it goes right out the back. Boat wakes at the transom and the scuppers keep it all out. I put a new leaning post on the boat that was smaller and fits perfectly.

Re: some more work, Non skid , console modification
I am starting work on my '78 20' MA console now and like what Billy did reversing the flange. My console has the cooler/seat in front of the console so reversing the flange would make it impossible to get screws in. Anyone addressed this problem or have an approach for securing the front portion of the console? I could not find any strings addressing it.
I thought if I screwed the back portion down under the console and bedded the front cooler in 5200 with the cooler full of water to keep it bedded until the 5200 set I would probably be OK. Thoughts? THX! DaTNGrizz |

Re: some more work, Non skid , console modification
A quick idea. (I don't like 5200. In my opinion, it is used much too often and ends up costing more time and aggravation than it's worth. But I do admit it has its place.)
Consider this. Make a base that is screwed down/permanently attached to the deck where you are going to 5200 the cooler into place. On top of that you can devise a mount or tray for the cooler. Then, the cooler can come on and off as needed or is convenient. You can design it in such a way that it will overlap the flange of the console and not limit you in pulling ot moving the console if you need to. If you decide to change your mind/configuration later, it is only a matter of removing that base (probably a few bolts through the deck.) Just my 2¢.
