I am up in Plymouth now, as that is where i live now. But if your ever up here let me know, i am sure i will get down there at some point. Are you gonna be able to make it to barnstable on the 15th?

won't be doin any traveling any time soon unless it involves the kids and summer fun stuff for them. Great to hear the boats up and running right for you. I sold my 23' to JWtex a couple of weeks ago and bought a 16' jon boat been getting it ready for some flats fishing and flounder gigging, almost ready, me and the son can't wait. Going offshore with some friends tomorrow will post the results if there are any worth posting. Found a great deal on a El Pescador bay boat trying to convince the other half that I need it.

Well, i just got off the phone with Roger Carrol, who owns a boat shop in chatham, ma. This winter I will be putting in a new deck, new fuel tanks, recoring the hull cap and putting in a swivel rod holder at the bow for the giants and probably some pull out cleats, also if time and money permit, new transom. Also i will be doing some work to the engine. Not quite to the extreme of miles but close hopefully.

Well, this sucks! I may have to sell. We are buying a house and she may have to go (by she i mean the boat not the woman) Anybody interested. It is out of the water in Plymouth at a boat yard. Any info anyone may need should be able to be located in this post somewhere. Again this is a maybe, i am trying to talk some sense into her. But offers if any will be looked into.

chance1234- Don't sell her! Thanks to some expert advice from 4boat theory, I can say "that there is light at the end of that tunnel" to finding a way to hold on to your sweet ride. It just takes some effort to plant the proper seeds in HER mind. Try the approach that the boat is depreciated down to nothing and worth very little with it's old age and such. It's the wrong time of year to sell, ect., ect.. If a little uncertainty takes root, then your set! Best of luck.

Yeah, thats my first plan of attack. Who wants to buy a 30 year old boat. I think it may work, i am mainly putting some feelers out there, i think i can sway her. Nothing a few glasses of wine and a tape recorder can't take care of.

Hold on!

Once you sell your toys, they are harder to get back.

The best thing to do now is buy another big toy, like say a motorcycle. Then enjoy it over the next month til the nagging gets to a new high. Sell the motorcycle and she will never bring up selling the boat again!!

Case closed ....

What a great thread! Trying to get caught up and I just plowed through the whole thing.

Congrats on buying a house, that's always a big step. Definitely don't sell the boat, however. For one, the market is lousy; for two, what could you really get for it and would that make a real difference in buying the house?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
