Default Re: Has any delt with this company?

Thats interesting on the stainless corroding under water....The big boys have stainless shafts on there underwater running gear and then everything else is bronze (struts rudder etc.)I was thinking the electrolysis route for the failure of the fitting and that is how that post seems to imply it happens...no warning sudden failure....I mean I've even seen Nibral wheels fail.... when we were coming in the inlet(back from a trip to the Wilmington canyon..Thank God it didnt happen out there) and all of a sudden a tremendous shutter in the boat...kind that makes you heart beat a little faster than it suppose to…. figured we had something caught in the wheel... limped to the closest marina and got lifted ASAP to find we had thrown a blade.... broke off right at the hub......you could see how the corrosion had eaten into the blade/hub and Nibral is stronger than bronze...so go figure . I'm wondering if the fitting was chrome plated Zinc or some other metal that doesnt take kindly to salt water....I have personally never seen SS fail like this anyway...Anyone ever seen this??? Depending on grade of SS I guess this could happen

I also would personally go for Bronze underwater .....cast SS or Chrome over bronze for Bilge pump thru hulls, scuppers, hawse pipes etc....
