Alright, here are a couple of pix (hopefully)just to get started. Don't pay any attention to the date. She is an '88 w/ a '00 225 Rude on the back. I am going on the 4th year of ownership. I'll post some other pix on the photo board that shows all of the teak, etc. Some of the pieces I made from teak deck planks off of the USS Iowa that I got from a top secret source.

Hey John, I love my 225 Evinrude. It'll launch the boat up on plane like right now, starts w/ the 1st turn of the key, and is fairly good on gas. The best top speed I ever got according to the GPS is 44 mph. That is by myself w/ at least half a tank of gas. The prop is an omc viper. I would do a little better on the top end if I would redo the bottom though. You can't tell in the photos but the bottom is in dire need if being sanded and repainted. I don't think the previous owner ever sanded the bottom. The bottom consists of different types of paint that is real thick and chipping off in several places. I've been putting off the inevitable by touching up any white spots that appear. Anyway, when I bought the boat in '99 it had the original and very tired 200 hp Yami. Yamahas and Mercs are great motors but I am an OMC guy. That's all I've ever had plus I got a good deal on the Rude. My boat wouldn't feel right w/ anything else. The only thing better would be a twin.

Yeah Craig I reckon so. I've been intending to tackle the job 4 years now. It's just one of those mini projects that keeps getting put on the back burner. I'd rather be fishing than scraping paint and since the boat stays on a trailer and not in the water fishing wins every time!

Thanks for the complimant Reel Smoker. The best place that I know of for cheapest price is Ed's Marine near Richmond, VA. He always has some kind of deal going. I got mine from Ron's Marine here in Portsmouth for about the same price as Ed's. I basically just shopped locally but I'm sure there are alot of deals out there if you shop around. Of course it is up to you but I would advise buying from someone that is local to you....that you trust! Good quality service may be worth a little extra $. FYI, When I was shopping for my 225 Rude most local dealers had a boat show sale of $16,000. Ed's was selling them for $13,600. I bought mine from Ron for $13,800. I have known Ron for a long time. He has a small shop but he really stands behind his products and service, plus he is only 10 min from home. Ed's is a 1 1/2 hour drive for me and his service was questionable from what I heard. If you would like the #'s of either of these places I will look them up and email them to you.
