Default Proper placement of trimtabs

My 23' project is coming along nicely...had to hire a guy to do the glass work or it would never get done!! Got my bracket from Hermco and put it on the ground next to the boat like Finster!

I pulled the old tabs off and are planning to put in new but I don't like where the old ones were. They straddled the outboard lifting surface (inverted strake?). I would have thought it should go out to the edge (chine?) to get clean water flow. What is the correct placement for a 1976 23 cc?

Tabman - just missed you at the boat show. Got a good eduction from one of your guys and he convinced me why your product is better.

If one is good then two are better.
