Re: Stolen Sea Craft Warning
CaptainK wher in S.Fla are you, this has been a really big problem down here in the Miami, Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest etc, south dade county area. It also seems that whatever preventive measures you take are not enough either. I heard stories on how the boats that have been stolen where very secure, some even behind fences with chains. I feel that the best tool is to definetly put a GPS on it. Sorry about your loss, hopefully it will turn up soon.

Re: Stolen Sea Craft Warning
What kind of GPS are you talking about, you mean something like LoJack? Can that be installed on boats?

Re: Stolen Sea Craft Warning
Yep! They'll call Ya if it moves.Few false signals but pretty good. Monitering charge but then How much do Ya invest & Insurance gives a discount.Maybe I do-Maybe I don't!
Just make sure You have an alternate power supply (hid) that They(installers) know about.Yep There's a Reason.

Re: Stolen Sea Craft Warning
Nestor they will definetly do it, we have all of our equipment Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, graders, etc with GPS units. The system works great, first of all its real time, I know exactly when the equipment moves, speed its moving at, when its on/off. They'll come out install the unit, the software on your computer and then train you on how to use it.

Re: Stolen Sea Craft Warning
What are some of the different ways to "lock" your boat so that it is not stolen? I have a motorcycle lock (a "u" shape lock, 3/4 inch steel diameter) that I slip through the right wheel rim and the leaf springs. I'm not sure what type of blowtorch they'd need to remove it. I worry more about the outboard engine being stolen. -- aaf
