Tx Otto-

Ed- Have you ever done business with Outboard exchange or had customers that have? I have tried to speak with them in the past in regards to parts and never really gotten anywhere they would not return calls.

Yeah, I spoke with the guys at outboard exchange a few years back when I was looking to have a shop rebuild the 200 Yamaha on my 20 Mako. They were very helpful at the time and gave me a written estimate on how they would rebuild it and repaint the entire engine (at at added cost) if I wanted. I wound up going with Monahan's because they were closer. Perhaps, Outboard Exchange is not in business any more?

What about that Blackbird place that does OMC rebuilds? Maybe they have the paint codes? I was thinking that if you were able to get the paint codes, you would save yourself the matching headache and could have the local autobody supply mix whatever paint for you.

If it means anything, Jodi repaints his Evinrude 225 Ocean Pro mid section and lower unit with Awlgrip. Not a perfect color match to the original but looks good to me...

I am prety sure outboard exchange is still in business I tried them last summer when I needed a new tilt/trim assy., Due to the fact it was summer may of been why they were hard to get in touch.

Blackbird is agood source They actaully purchased an engine from me 3 years ago, nice people.

I am not too concerned about the color match as i am doing the entire engine. As long as everything is white I am happy.

I just wanted to know how people have done it.

I think I am going to follow dtmackey's suggestion but I did get an email in regards to Imron so I will look into that as well.

Thanks All

Jason

Just a thought but if you are painting the entire engine and color match doesn't matter, you could go with a color to match the boat or your house, car, etc. Fuschia?
