Hi Frank. Frank Brown's Marine (I'm guessing that was your Dad) built my small Merc race motors when I raced small F & G hydros in the late 60's, and later in '83 rebuilt my XS1500 Merc and converted it to a long shaft motor, which I then put on the back of my 1st Seafari 20'. At the time, I was the Tow Boat Captain (later dockmaster) for Waterway Marina in Palm Beach Gardens, right across the street from Brown's Marine.
Also built the Merc 1500 I put on the back of a 14'11" Cacci Craft Speedster. Never got to actually race that one, I got airborne once without throttling back fast enough and threw a rod right through the dashboard.

I bought my Seafari from Frank when he was at Brown & Hauptner Marine on PGA Blvd, where the Waterway Cafe is now! He's a legendary mechanic!

That's were my Dad bought his 1972 20' SeaCraft with one of those Rocket "Break-Away" Trailers you see in the pic.
