It's got the galley seat but it's missing the alcohol stove The boats been in freshwater it's entire life, so there is no corrosion. The weak link on the 270 drive . . . from what I've seen, is the tilt mechanism. There's a few things that have to be fixed before it can be splashed, but overall it's quite a bit cleaner than the red one.

The Seafari I just got has the galley setup but no stove. I am going to check with the owner to see if he has it or knows what happened to it. I am also trying to determine the year. It is not on the stern as newer boats and has an aluminum rubrail. What is the difference between the windshields I have been reading about?

Ed, look for an aluminum foil decal just below the cockpit shelf, on port side all the way forward, just aft of bulkhead. It'll have the year on it (if it's still readable!) My boat also had an aluminum rub rail when I got it, but I replaced it years ago with what was supposed to be the rubber one used on the 23. It was a little taller in cross-section than the old one you sent me (Thanks again by the way!), but your old one worked out fine. Will send PM with pics.

My galley seat still had the original stove (which is either propane or butane), but I was unable to find fuel canisters for it, which look like those that R-12 freon came in. I designed stove-holder board with a 1-burner butane model I already had that works well (see pictures posted in photos section). I still have original stove, which is a little rusty but looks like it would still work. I can send to you or Big Shrimpin' if either of you wants it and can find fuel for it - just PM me with a mailing address.

Regarding the windshield, the later ones like the picture Big Shrimpin posted, added a fixed piece of glass below the fwd section that opens out. This raises the windshield maybe 3" or so. The raised platform on the cabin top that the windshield sits on was also moved forward - on my '72, the point of the V in windshield is about 18" aft of the hatch. On later models it looks to be only about 6" aft of hatch. This change not only adds a couple of inches of headroom to the cabin and raises top of windshield above (my 5'11") line of sight, it also provides more space between instrument panel for compass and other stuff. The side panels look very similar with same angles, although they may be about 1' longer. I believe they also added a glove compartment on passenger behind windshield, similar to the 23 Scepter. A friend of mine bought a new Seafari in 1976 which had these changes, as well as a smaller stepdown (just big enough to open cabin door) and a bigger fuel tank. I liked all the changes except the smaller stepdown, as it's a good place to keep my 70 qt cooler. I changed to an adjustable/lower seat pedestal to get top of windshield out of my line of sight when seated.

Thanks for the info. I am going to check it out when I go work on the engine. Also take some pictures, it is in really good condition, just needs a paint job.
