Yeah I'd have second thoughts, too. That's a fine looking boat and great transom work. Virtually new motor. Can't get squat for it in this market... Yeah - I'd keep it.

Seafari's are also pretty rare (only 741 built vs. 2311 cc's and MA's), especially ones in as nice a shape as yours is!

Back during their peak production in the late 60's/early 70's, used Seafari's had the highest resale value of anything in their class. (I know because I was looking at them then and bought mine in 1975!) Moesly had some great ads that said: "The price of a new boat tells you what the builder thinks he can get for it. The price of a USED boat tells you what OTHER folks think it's WORTH!" It then went on to relate the story about resale value on the Seafari's. When the economy turns around in a couple of years and gas is $5/gal, I suspect there will be a lot of folks looking for a 5 mpg rig like that!

This is a hell of a deal for someone looking for a really nice boat. The motor is damn near worth what he is asking for the boat..never mind the nice aluminum trailer. sorry you have to get rid of her...I would keep it if at all possible.
