Amen to Todd's comments on "A Pilots Story"! Really gives you a first hand feel for what the guys went thru in WWII! Also provides an insight into what an outstanding guy Carl was, even as a youngster - a top notch math guy, aviator, and navigational wizard. Very thorough, always studied a problem well and did his "homework", in addition to being an excellent judge of people. Once you understand the man a little better, it's no surprise how successful he was at founding, designing and racing SeaCrafts! One can only imagine what else he would have come up with had he not sold out to Potter! Sure can't blame him for wanting to retire and sail around the world, however, after his military career and the intense experience of starting his own company plus having a very busy and successful racing career! Something to be said for retiring at the peak of your success! The days of an independent guy being able to compete at that level are long gone - would take a major corporate sponsorship to do that today! Denny

Denny, you and Todd are so right.

Thanks Carla,
Santa has his lunch money.
Just starting reading last night and the Germans have already surrended.

The man is a rare combination af artist and engineer. Some engineers are also great artists, but few great artists are also great engineers, or for that matter, great judges of others strengths and abilities.
Cheers,
GFS

A Pilots History is a great book. All of you that have met or know of Carl would love this book. I have read it more than once. One of the best books I have read.
Where can you get the book? I did a search and did not come up with good results.

Send a PM to Carla! She helped her dad put the book together and get it published; she had a bunch of 'em at one time, but don't know how many are left.

Did not know the relationship until these last two posts! Carla, I feel honored! Now I REALLY can't wait for that new book to come out! I toured the plant in Princeton back in 1969 with a friend who bought a 69 20SF and still has it. Is it possible that I may have seen Carl at that time and did not know it?

A Pilot's History ... book by Carl Moesly ... The story of his early days, before getting into boat building & design.
He is an amazing man with so many lifetime accomplishments.

Yes, I do have some books ... one soft cover for $12 ... and several hardcover books for $16.
If you wish to pay & wait for deliver until after Christmas, I can have them personally autographed for you.
And of course, free shipping.

Ken, thanks for your kind post ...

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
