At first I thought it was just old age and the knowledge that cold weather is such a major "PIA", however the real truth is I hate F-ing cold weather!!!!! To me it seems like this is just the longest cold snap I've been around in at least 15 years. Us Florida boys know the drill....two days of NW wind and cold, the front passes and then a week of warm up so we can do some fishing. Not so in the last two weeks.

I'm going to the bank tomorrow and borrow some money to pay my electric bill!!! Thinking of using "No Bones" as a credit reference!!!! Wish me luck!!!

A couple of days ago, there was SNOW! in Naples. Its gone below freezing here for at least 4 days. UGH!

In 1977, I sat on a dock in Miami, watching the snow flakes come down. Just as bad as now, but it did not last near as long.

Maybe you guys can apply for some Federal Assistance for your electric bills.

What the heck, the Government seems to give it to anyone that wants it. They'll just print more...........

In 1977 as all have said, was the biggest kill on
record. We spent the day in the Lil' No Bones (flats boat)
scooping up so may Snook out of the Tomoka River
and Thompsons Creek that it took 3 of us 4 hours
to clean them all. Matt you remember that for sure
when you were smokey the bear on water skis.
Even the FMP looked the other way back then cause
they knew they were going to die.

See ya, Ken

I walked down to the barge canal off the Withlacoochee river, and counted 4 dead tarpon on Tuesday, and 5 dead snook within 10 minutes. The snook were all under 3 lbs/18", but one of the tarpon was in the 100-150 lb range, close to 6' long. I took a photo with my cell phone, but it didn't come out. A boater picked him out of the water and said he was going to have him mounted.

We have had 12 straight days below freezing, and 13 of 14 days this year. We've had 5 days reaching below 20*, and two days reaching 12* or 13*. It snowed here on Saturday past, and stuck to the ground. We have not been above 50* at my house for 9 straight days, and only 1 day reached above 50* this year. Today, we are finally supposed to reach 54*-56*.

The Citrus County Chronicle (aka the Citrus County Comical) published an editorial that blamed the cold weather on Global Warming...no kidding.
