I know what you mean Ken!!!! It's kinda like Boca Grande pass with hundreds of Tarpon and the fishermen going crazy. I stay away from mini season, three day holiday weekends, etc. it brings out the amature drunks........not to be confused with us professionals.

Is that the Race? what was the date? I was out there on the last day, and it was a ghost town compared to that chit-show!

Nope not the Race. That pic was on the last 30 fish day (thurs-from an SF18). Here's another looking back on Chatham taken earlier in season from my 23.

Heres a couple of how it looked the week before the season when the fish were feeding on top and no "sharks" were around.

Heres a pic of a "shark" in the Chatham sunshine

I dont know the exact species but it appears to be of the non bent rod variety. The arrival of these "sharks" caused a big stir in Town with the Town fishfathers. Oh yea and there was a Classic SeaCraft reunion every Tue Wed and Thur for 2 months. These boats sure can fish

NAT...thats is one BIG fish!!! Please forgive the blue boat in advance for following you around next year.

Couple of videos from the 23 seacraft off chatham in June. One shows the striper porn-acres of air breathing stripers-all keepers. about 3-4 miles off chatham. Prob the same schools that went deep for bass season and Tim has some in his shots. The commentary is courtesy of a friend, true irish accent from boston and another friend. Mind you were we trolling bars so we did not want to catch stripers! Evry time the schools swung into the bars they always hit the long center rigger waaay back. Thats why friends come fishing-to work the spread .

striper porn off chatham on the surface:

Later the same day C&R a 65"inch bluefin-swam it for 10 or so and released. Only have shots of the swim, 2 much excitement to film the fight. Note commentator(not me) is incorrect you need a 73" to sell(or at that time to keep as trophy if rec):

the first time we went out this year it was rediculous. at any time while we were tuna fishing we could see 10 schools like that all around the boat!

It was sick. I've been chasing stripers religiously since age 6 (46 years!) and I have to say that to see this many keepers and NOT want to catch them was a new one on me. And this was inside the 3 mile line, but we were in and out chasing tuna so didn't keep any bass. (I was the one running Josh's boat, trying to avoid the stripers)
