I have those manually adjustable tabs that I don't care for. I was however told that Bennett tabs, say, would make little difference. Either way, it'd be a cool toy to have

Whoever told that the Bennett tabs make little difference was wrong. They make a huge difference. You do have to play with them to learn how to use them, however, as they're not automatic and can't read your mind.

A dear friend of mine has a '76 20' Seafari with the original Bennett Tabs and a 120 hp Evinrude. He can stay on plane at 12 mph. My 20' Seafari does not have tabs. I fall off plane at about 18 mph.

Damn. You mean trim tabs won't give us world peace?

Sounds good to me. I was specifically told that they'd do little for the ride other than keep the boat on an even keel.

I'll end up getting Bennett tabs for this boat. But if the 4 blade works well enough for now, I'll hold off 'til next season.
