Phil,
Keep in mind we are at the start of Bike Week here in Daytona.. When you are coming down I-95 toot the horn at mile marker 240 I may be able to hear you over the scooters that will be everywhere! Good luck with the new addition! Every man should have at least two boats.... If you have time coming or going let me know... Area 442 is a good pit stop.

That was quick. Guy knows a good boat when he sees one. What are your plans for the beast? I am very curious to know how the boat handles with twins on her transom. Will you be running it in the same configuration?

I figured that boat would not last long, that was a DEAL!! Enjoy your new toy.

I'd have similar questions for the owner. Although those are probably some of the lightest motors available for that application, I notice that they have Doelfins installed, so I wonder if low speed planning was a problem?! Maybe not an issue, since with that much deadrise that boat doesn't NEED to slow down for much, at least in terms of wave heights! If it doesn't already have them, 4 blade props would be a good addition. Connor has indicated that his I/O Seafari 25 likes more weight up front, and outboards on a bracket will move CG in the opposite direction. Maybe adding a rubber ballast tank in the bow like Moesly planned to have in that boat would be a good addition. Might be worth trying to contact Big Fluke for his opinion. He's a naval architect that has run a lot of tests on the effects of CG position on Seafari 25 hull's ride and handling. He hasn't posted here in a long time, but maybe Strick or Island Trader would have contact information for him. Denny

Welcome to the club, Phil. The few, the proud... Not too many Seafari 25 owners here, or anywhere else for that matter.
Let us know how she handles with those twin outboards. Bushwacker makes some good points about CG. Bigfluke says they tend to go airborne in a sea if the CG is too far aft. Dave

Welcome indeed Phil. You are gonna love this one. 25 owners are especially high on their boats, for good reason.
I've enjoyed your posts on Old Yeller and look forward to your experience with the 25. If I remember right, Lake Lanier can develop a pretty nasty, square wave chop, very wet in most boats. You will be astonished at how dry the 25 is. Not shabby in much bigger stuff too. Connor |
