Solas 17p 4 blade prop runs low 40's about 1/2 fuel just me no rods, ice, etc. I propped it to be able to stay on plane at a lower speed (ocean). It will run mid-upper 40's with Yam 19p 3 blade.

Is that what you are cruising at, or what you are topping out at? Thanks for the info.

I too am on the hunt for a new single outboard... prices are all over the map out her eon the sandbar. I had figured for a 350 motor with controls (ill rig it) they would be semi close in range.... not so much.

Go for the 300 Yamaha and get it over with... That will be a sweet ride. I wish I had the coin for one.

I just hope this 250 is enough power.

The issue I am having is financing, many of the (small) dealers around here wont do the mfg financing and the boat is too old to put a lean on the private financiers wont touch it. Dosnt matter that I just dumped a ton of time and money into making it new again. HAHA!

There is (what appears to be) a good deal on a low hour 250 Yam OX66 on THT. Not sure of shaft length.

If you are interested in a used engine I have a 225 Optimax for sale that runs great and pushes a 23 Seacraft really well. Its posted in the items for sale section with pictures.
