225 on a 20 master angler

I've got a 250 on mine and with the T-top it does 57ish and I have to back down. That is full of fuel (70 gallons) and 4 people on board.

I would post that I have a 30" setback bracket and a 250 Opti (same weight as the 225 Opti) and I am stern heavy, only on a 20' Wellcraft. I came over here looking for someone that has hung some additional bouyancy on the stern because of this very thing.. Found Hermco here. What a bracket.. Of course Big Shrimpin's bracket, Awesome. What a boat these Seacrafts are. I am a fan, sorry for the derail, weary from walking uphill in my 20 all the time. You may be able to compensate some by putting some additional weight in the nose. Irregardless, it will sit bow proud and look cool. If I could find a reliable/efficient 300 hp that weighed around 425lbs I would be happy, Temporarily...

i love my 200XRI black max. 395 lbs and all the power you could want! im rebuilding the transom now and adding a 27 inch bracket, flotation style without the platform. cant wait to get it done and back on the water.

Well been very wet here in port saint lucie. Will be trying to get out today I have pics of it in the drive way. Also waiting on my mirage plus prop 15.5 diameter 19 pitch. Not thinking my 14.25 diameter 17 pitch is enough prop

You'll probably need a 21P . . if you have the 1.75 ratio gear case.

All I can say Is PROP it right and Make sure If you runn in alot of chop everything is strapped down. <airtime> Put a More weight in the bow and Burn through the chop and LAUGH YOUR BUTT OFF.


From my own experience from having a low transom and no bracket to a full transom with a bracket. I have gone Thru black maxx 200,honda 225 fourstroke,mercs 150,200,225 now a Suzuki 175 fourstroke. Favorite in speed and torque was the old black maxx. The 225 I could turn on a dime.

But all in all it will not feel like a true seacraft ride. But thats just my opinion.
But it will RIDE.. lol Suck some fuel too WOT. 3/4 throttle

Local charter Captain Richie has a 135yammi and does 40knts stays dry from even weight distribution Most of the time.lol

You'll definitely need a 21. I'm running a 15 x 21 Mirage prop and am seeing anywhere from 5500-5800rpms

so got it in the water did sit a little low thinking the 19p was too much prop. took to long to plane out but once it did it hauled. i didnt have any vent caps in the prop and i was only getting 5000 rpm all trimmed out. then it started bucking and my fuel bulb was empty. not sucked flat just empty. so needless to say didnt get a good test. back at shop getting back tomorrow hopefully

thats gotta swing a 19, now a Stilletto is very close to a Mirage in design just 14 1/4 vs 15 in dia - my guess is the motor is too low in general but it will take some set-up work with the bracket. I have no experience with brackets, now Ridge Runner who has popped in here would be an excellent source on setting up brackets - trust me his Wellcraft is bad ass looking strung out

Jay - I could swing a 19P mirage plus 5800rpm on a 20MA with a old 1981 2.4L V225 with a Yamaha 8hp fourstoke and 75 gallons.

You definitely have some issues with that opti.
