Snook...I would have to look in my book. The primer manual bypass (red switch) should be in closed position when running normal. I probobly have one if this is your problem.
are you still having problems? Yes...blue powerpack is a CDI unit and not OMC/Factory orig. So it has been replaced at some point if its blue. Sandy....no Optical eye on the 225 looper. Its not an Optical Ignition System (OIS).

Thanks for the correction. My 60* has one. I will find my pointy hat.
Was ois only for the 60* motor? |

I think so. The 150 and 175 hp only. The 175 I owned was a really super engine!!!

Update-The power pack (CDI unit) was replaced before I bought it. We made sure all pins were connected. All cylinders have spark and all cylinders checked out in the 90's (theses are low compression motahs). I think the carbs are the problem. There was a shifter/binnacle that was replaced recently by the prior owner which has a lock out feature if attempted to start while in gear-don't think its the problem for the idle shift into gear dying???

Saves the gears in the lower. By design. If you have compression, you have happinesss. Well done. Just have to chase what you have. Now go buy more food. We can buy rec 90 here at 13th st. Are you saying that even land based stations are not pure? Who wants to start a revolution? I`m game, Tired of standing around watching people like Soros make my buttt sore. We can sit here and type, or we can be proactive. We need a leader who is not afraid of death. Someone who can say we are taking our rights back. Someone who says you can`t be a bread winner for popping out babies. I`ll get off my box now. The Japanese tragedy required nothing but effort. They are delivering. Their CEO`s consider more than 10x of the compensation of their lowest paid employees to be a salary. Wow. Go figure. |

Sandy and thehermit-
I was wrong on the shifter-it has been on the boat. (I was told that that neutral is more in between reverse and neutral when shifting-also the cables were changed in the last year) But it sure does make me wonder about the stall factor when idling and going into gear. I will look for the shift interrupter and try to depress to get a feel for the effect of it. I will be draining the bowls today and looking at the gas in the newer fuel filter and bowls. Gotta love gremlins!
