I recommend a layer of fresh glass before u recore it is very thin were the core is

I was thinking about that too. It is pretty thin. What would you recommend for glass?

Sorry I can't help you with the proper choice of f. glass but holing it in place seems like a rather simple solution.

If you haven't purchased the plywood yet, you might try scored 1/2" divinycel PVC foam. It will never rot, and weighs very little. I think mertons in Springfield has some.

Ditto....I used the 3/8" divinycel on my 23'er.

Well, I made an unholy mess, but the new cores are in. Tonight I'll take the screws and 'backing plates' off, fill in any voids along the edges with West System 6-10 thickened epoxy and glass over the boards from underneath.

Looks like a lot of work how's the back and neck feel looking at yours I'm glad I was able to pull my cap off and turn it upside down and do it that way --- hats off to you!!
