I will say that making the 23' to look like the conch will not be good in the ocean with swells. Just from being in my 23 and others, it will put you to close to the water. Especially trying to raise the floor. It would be better for an inshore boat.
My next project is turn a 20' into a flats boat with the cut in the shearline, like the conchs. And maybe a tunnel in it too ![]() |

I missed one a while back. 1998 26 with twin 225 mercs on a bracket. Motors had high hours and sat up a few years but trailer was new and boat was very clean with newer t-top. $8000 was the asking price and it even said neg. It was gone two days latter. Love the Regulators. Wish another one that cheep would show up one c.l. again.

Just for the record i'm not trying to turn a seacraft into a conch.
I'm trying to turn a seacraft into a seacraft more suited to my style of fishing. I would not cut any shearline. The hull would remain the same. Liner removed, stringers raised 2-3 inches, floor glassed to stringers, hull sides cored, floatation twin engine bracket. My power would most likely be 115 4 strokes or 130 - 135 DI 2 strokes (optis or etecs). I would only raise the floor enough to ensure self bailing. Once i find the right hull for the right price i will make this happen and report my findings. Hopefully it wont be all negative ![]() |

I think you're on the right track. If I keep my 79 Sceptre that's my plan exactly. I think with the Hermco floatation bracket and raising the floor 2 or 3 inches, twin 150 or 200 etecs would be ideal. The 135-200hp small block etecs are all the same weight. around 425 lbs each. Though the Reg 26 is calling me hard!!
