Nice boat yourself! The 115hp is really nice. I had an older Evinrude 140 on it prior and I can say that I lost nothing with the 115. I have just standard analog gauges mounted WOT i was pushing 6000 on the tach and getting into the mid 30's on the gps....It really likes cruising at around 4800-5200, which is a little under the suggested cruising range but it is what feels good for the boat, speed is like 28-30 and just purring! What I like most is response the motor has in seas......really fun! Thanks for passing along the message.

It has been a few weeks since I was last on the forum.....The Boat is still for sale for any interested parties. I open to offers.....price, hull only, trade.....

So the Etec is no longer part of the deal?
Curious about the specific prop you had on the Etec and how high the motor was mounted (anti-cav. plate relative to keel when parallel)?

So the Prop is a Solas Saturn 13 3/4 X 15. The cavitation plate sits approximately 2 inches above the bottom of the keel. The motor is still part of the deal.....It seems like alot of people think the motor is to small! Many people think you have to have 150 or better....the boat is perfect with that motor. That is the only prop I have tried on it. It feels like it gets a little wound out and with a different prop I might be able to get a little more speed out of the boat, but I love how handles in seas and how responsive it is to throttle. It goes plenty fast for me and I reckon most people. I really love the boat. We have great weather this weekend for camping and I plan on spending a few nights on it for sure. Just not getting the use and I hate to see it not get used, but I sure love to use it. When is the next gathering by the way? I saw something about it being in Cayo Costa?

Etec are very powerful motors they are not like the older outboards. The full economy on this setup must be great. That motor is perfect for that boat you don't need any more power.

Just my humble opinion Robert, but that is actually the perfect motor for that boat. Transom mounted, light weight and puts out 129 shaft HP at the prop. I see a lot of nice boats on this site, but I think that is a perfect balance of usable deck space, overnight capabilities, dry ride, 6 cylinder tow vehicle, 4 mpg fuel burn rate with the world renowned Seacraft VDH ride. It's in good condition with all the right canvas. I think if you bolt on a 115 two stroke Yamaha you would have the same weight and loose 1.5 MPG and 4 MPH - anything else gets you further in debt. Don't mess with success - it's just about perfect. Ask Denny (Bushwacker) - he has 7,358 miles on the odometer in his 20' Safari.

I totally agree on the yamaha, but for the extra 20 lbs IMHO there is no reason to not bolt on a 200 Etec. Out west here where I live, many days are 40 mile runs on flat glass... and I like to Open her up. and the days when the storms hit and 2 foot chop with lightening... I want the boat going as fast as she can and still handle. I have no qualms with the 115 Etec...It's just not enough power for me and we do a ton of Big Load Camping. I can't see stressing out a 115 with a big load when a 150 to 200 does the job better. The 135 HO Etec which is a knocked down 150 actually putting out 148 HP is about 11k out the door new and rigged. And for $1600 more the 150 or $2800 more the 200. I guess what i am saying is at the end of the day, if I am gonna lay out $10,000 plus... an xtra couple of grand wont matter to have her set up exactly like i want with the power package. Terry's right, that 115 E-TEC is a perfect match for that boat. If you're running in rough water, you won't be able to use more power than that anyway! Ran mine for 31 years including numerous Bahama trips with an old 115 that was really only about 100 HP at the prop, as they were rated at the powerhead back in '75. The new motors are much stronger than the one I was used to, not to mention much smoother and quieter, and burning a lot less gas and oil! Although I have the 150 on a bracket, it's way more power than needed, and the boat will be balanced much better with the lighter 115 on the transom. I was originally planning to go with the 115 but the V-4's weren't yet in production in 2006 when I was ready for a motor, so that's how I ended up with the 150.
