Terry,
That is massive, probably more money than I could imagine.

The owner of the OSB company had the boars specially designed and made in his factory with water proof glue. Even so the property's were the same.

Hugh told a story about flying into communist China at 220 foot off the Deck to photo a missal site. He was fired on by cannon fire and did evasive maneuvers.
When he landed he checked the G meter and it was pegged.

That right there is one bad MoFo.

He really does need to write a book. Or at the very least just write it down to keep in his family

Those are a couple of great craftsmen. I was lucky enough to get the concrete contract on Tom's house. Tom will be the one pointing me in the right direction during the restore of the ol 18 when the time comes. Good people...

Default Made a call

Talked to Huge yesterday since I had not heard back from Tom regarding the max power and top end for the hull. Oddly neither Hugh or Tom were familiar with the variable dead rise hull.

Also will be getting advice on where to buy the boards IE: coosa, divinicell etc.

I work in Fort Misery, give me a shout when you pull the trigger. Would love to see the Old Girl reborn.

That is true. Tom only knows what I told him about as far as ride characteristics. He was surprised when I told him at wot, the water breaks from the hull more than 2/3's of the way back from the bow. He also made a comment about lift; being able to pick up 3000 lbs of v-hull that high with only 150 hp. We also discussed external transom mount bait wells and following the contour of the hull. Follow the contour and make the rear of them with 1 or 2 degrees negative "trim".

Regarding 2/3 water breaks away from the hull I get it. But not under standing "lbs of vbeing able to pick up 3000 lbs of vbeing able to pick up 3000 We also discussed external transom mount bait wells and following the contour of the hull. I'm not the smartest bow entry in the water but you lost me here.

Ed
It takes a certain amount of horse power to provide enough forward momentum to lift a planing v-hull out of the water. With the water breaking 2/3's of the way back (indicates hull riding higher, water breaking closer to the bow indicates hull riding lower) he was surprised that an 18', 3000 lb v-hull,(my full load weight is around 3000 lbs) could ride that high pushed by only 150 hp. In other words, The hull design of a SeaCraft provides tremendous lifting characteristics. Hope this explains it a little better but don't expect too much from a dumb ass concrete finisher!

He is on FL sportsman blog or you could call him.

"I never should have sold that boat" were his words about the mods. Not sure if it had a hook.
There's some pictures of 1 floating around the internet, don't know if it is his but is was set up as the ultimate inshore boat.
I might have my positives and negatives transposed, but Tom basically said not to have the trailing edge below the hull. So I would say, no hook.
