Comparing zuk 140 and merc 150 is like Apple and orange. The merc will out performed the zuk. I installed my twin merc 115 on my seacraft purchase from local dealer. No inspection and have extended warranth. They have since did quite a few warranty repair on it..

To be clear, I wasn't recommending the 140, just telling of my experience. I'm thinking about a 150 Zuk for the 20 I'm starting on, but, then you look at weights and you might as well get the 200.

Locke N Load,
I went Yamaha F150 in 2006 and Suzuki DF140 in 2021. I believe there is a Merc guy in New Bedford/Fairhaven, MA. Rick's Outboard is the name I think.

Rick's sounds familiar from the list on the Mercury website. I will definitely check them out. Thanks.

On a positive not, I got the new coring (Carbon-Core plastic honeycomb) done on the cuddy deck and test fit it in the hull. Like a glove. Even better than when it came out. Some supports and it will be ready to epoxy in and then move onto the next step.

Locke N Load, your conclusions are many of the ones I have come to. Even the fly by wire newer high compression 140 doesn’t have quite enough for what I’m looking for. What did you end up doing and how does it perform?

The Mercury 150 4S is sitting in its shipping crate still. I keep running into roadblocks when I think I finish one step only to find another that needs to be done. It is too hot now to do any more work for the summer. Come September I will get back to it and expect to have her ready next spring.
