I have gotten permission from Jerry Schiaccitano at AAA Outboard, a local Mercury dealer, to bring a collection of used and new props to try out on various boat. If you find one you really like, you will also be able to buy it on the spot. (No, I do not get a commission). I just asked to do this so that we could all try different props to see what may work better. Jerry is, however, going to offer a 10% discount on all props purchased directly or ordered. I tried to get him to go 20%, but his markup is only 15% on some new props. Some of them will be used props, and priced accordingly.
The bad news is that if we spin a hub or damage a prop I gotta pay for it, so we gotta be careful.
It'll be fun.

Getting real close and looking forward to getting out and doing some fishing. I hope we have enough locals around to point me to some bottom out there, should be plenty of Cobes around by the reports.

Father Fr.
Are you bringing a mirage +? I was holding off on mounting mine and thought I could bring the old michigan for a mythbusters comparison. Plus I`m dying to try it out. I also have to put her back together this weekend. May have to take some vaca time before the show. Just got her back from my 100 hr service after 2 weeks...... I gotta get a shop manual!

Danny,
I can let you borrow my 24" prop. I don't have c/r motors, they both rotate the same way. I also have access to a 20" ss Suzi prop if someone would like to try it.

On an other note, apparently fishing is beginning to "blow up" around there. From what I have been reading in the internet and in the Florida Fishing Weekly, Cobia are just showing up now and White jigs, pinfish or an eel like imitation will most certainly get a bite. Redfish and trout are biting.....some 10-20lb reds being taken in the bay around small creeks. Bait is pretty plentiful with sabiki's or castnet. Jacks in the passes.
AW YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now for the real fishing forecast....

For some reason the cobia are still hanging around, they usually move through pretty fast, and hang up around the cape. If you find big rays, usually in 40-50' you will find cobia. This may be related to the next piece of info.

We have had some cold water move in, and it is slowing the bottom fishing down, a lot. If you get out deep you can avoid some of it, but then your fighting a strong current.

There are some big Mahi to 68 POUND!!! that have been caught out deep too, real deep.

I am supposed to be putting the motor back on my boat Monday, an if she seatrials ok, should be dragging it down there Fri.

Is there a schedule or any other such agenda/organization?

It sounds like there will be a lot of boats, if anyone is looking for a ride out, let me know, right now, I have just 2 in my boat.
