Re: I Need A Shrink !
Thanks fellas
Thats a good piece of advice about heating the tube to make it stronger....I never thought of that. I guess I got lucky with the Cetol...to be honest I did not put much thought into which teak product to get. The guy at West Marine mentioned the article in Power Boats so thats why I went with it. I put 3 coats of it on the teak..did not sand in between coats. As far as when to cut the holes thats kinda like six one half a dozed or the other. I dot see any real advantage to doing it before paint other then it may save a tiny bit of fairing and paint. It's just the way I do it. If I had a real large area to cut out I may do it prior to paint. Thanks again...more photos to come soon. strick

Re: I Need A Shrink !
Seems like there is always something going on that keeps me from working on the boat. We have company coming over this evening so I better post now.
Backing plates cut for the radar arch and cleats table for two Fuel/ water fills and vent on the port side. There is another fuel fill on the starboard side Most of the wiring is going to run under the gunnel cap on this boat but I wanted to put in a chase tube so I could easily run whatever after the deck is sealed up. The boat had a hole cut inside the cabin beneath the helm for the steering cable. I ran some 3" abs under the deck to the engine compartment from this hole. I had to put in a round access deck plate so I could do the plumbing. This is a just in case chase tube. A couple shots showing this: Installing thru hull fittings these are for the two bilge pumps Installing thru hulls for the live well overflow and the end of day drain for the dead fish box and live well. These are 1.5" thru hulls: Epoxy is used to seal the wood Lots of 5200 on these Bronze valves on the transom. It's going to be fun trying to avoid the manifolds when turning these on and off but there was no other place on the boat that I could mount them. Just going to have to be careful I guess. Finally I was able to get the radar arch mounted yesterday. Thanks to Bill and Butch for coming over and helping me with that project. Backing plates for the radar arch strick

Awesome!! On the drain valves...maybe a hole at the end of the handle for a 1/4" SS rod?? Kinda like a safety shower pull.

Re: I Need A Shrink !
Thanks for all the cheering fellas.
I've been doing lots of plumbing over the course of the past several days. Cutting lots of holes in various places on the boat. A few pictures of what has been done. shot showing the bait tank pump and live well overflow Raw water pump mounted in engine compartment There are going to be three Brass drains in the cabin floor Fresh water pump mounted on the stringer port side in the cabin Fittings for the bait tank and fresh water nipple Getting the seat boxes ready Trial fitting the seat boxes. I need to put a little more foam on the one on the starboard side. Inspection plates Backing cleats for the seat boxes. This is PVC board from the local hardware store. On to the teak swim platform...one of the pieces was missing so I cut a new one First coat of Cetol Alaska strick

Re: I Need A Shrink !
As always, beautiful work and terrific planning. She is blossoming before our eyes.
The last shot of the plane is quite something. Isn't that an old Beaver model plane, so often used by the bush pilots in the northern outback? (I am probably going to catch H--l for the wording, but it is all correct in its context.)
