Re: I Need A Shrink !
More weekend warrior work going on. I've had very little time to get anything done as work has me running around putting out small fires here and there 7 days a week. Most of the work I've been able to do is at night so I've been burning the midnight oil lately trying to get things wrapped up. My goal at this point is to get the boat operating so I can do a little Fall fishing in this thing...but well see if that happens.
The outdrive is partially mounted I ended up salvaging the old bow rail of the other 25 seafari. Rather then spend $1800-2K to have one welded up, I instead spent $125 on some new fittings. I still need to polish it up and finish bolting it down. I like the way it looks and a big thanks goes to Bill for helping me get it on there. Swim platform is permanently mounted and ladder is installed Platform for batteries Hydraulic steering. At some point I plan on installing a furuno Navnet 3d on this boat and I wanted to get away from mounting it on the dash so I copied Bonefishes idea of a flush mount flip up electronics box. Cutting out the dash I'm too cheap to buy teak and it's hard to find here in N. California so I used mahogany and gave it several good coats of cetol. a rubber gasket sits in a routed out channel There is enough room to see most of the gauges when sitting at the helm. The important ones will be mounted on top of the gauge panel. When standing up at the helm all of the gauges are visible. A cam lock helps to keep it sealed from the elements. The extra rocker switch is for the fuel gauge thanks to Denny for that idea. A view from in the cabin. I plan on mounting a small flat screen DVD on the two legs of the flip up electronics pod. My working conditions every night We took a little day trip to Monterey last weekend. There were tons of boats on the water in the morning fishing close to the beach. I hear they were catching white sea bass! I did not get any pictures of that but here is a couple of the harbor. Perfect day for fishing but we went to the Jazz festival instead. strick

Truly amazing work there, Strick! I'm impressed with your ingenuity. Can't wait to see some pics when you get her in the water.

Re: I Need A Shrink !
Looking great. The recess setup is very slick and is in harmony with the classy old school boat.
The WSB bite has been insane. Its a once in a lifetime year. You should go, awesome fish and incredible table fare. Better than jazz??? |

Re: I Need A Shrink !
Lookin' sweet, Chuck. I'm planning something similar for my helm station, but I want to bring the flip up panel all the way back to where you mounted your switches. Still sorting out where my switches and trim tab controls will go.
When I got my 25, it had the single fuel gauge with a switch for toggling back and forth. I decided to go the other way, with two gauges, so I wouldn't have to remember which tank was on the gauge, which tank was feeding the engine, and if they were the same. I'm afraid I'm getting forgetful in my old age and need all the help I can get. Dave
