I read this post yesterday on the hull truth. There's a guy that has a good comparison of a 34 fountain with trip 250's and twin 275 verado's. An interesting read.

At this point, I plane to run it til it dies. I talked w/a shop about value, owner said they would buy at fair price just to get the lower end for parts. At this point it runs great and I have a 15hp Honda for a kicker to get me back home if needed. It moves me along great at aout 5-7 MPH depending ont he tide and wind.

I was at the harbor walking yesterday and one of our local boat builders was launching a new 26 ft aluminum hull boat for the Los Angeles Police Dept. It sure looked good with twin 200 E-Tec's on the back. I talked with the crew and they said they last time they had ran a flow scan hooked to the 200's that they were getting 14gph at @4200 rpm. I would have thought it would be a little better, but he said the boat weighed around 6400 lbs. They were really quiet and ran smooth, but he did stall one while running high rpm pulling/back off the trailer, really put out a cloud of white smoke, but remained quiet, the prop wash was louder than the motor running.

Data from Evinrude site, not the same size boat but close enough for comparison for our 23's/weight etc.
200hp E-Tec 3500rpm/22.6mph/9.61gph/2.4mpg 225hp E-Tec 3500rpm/22.2mph/8.69gph/2.6mpg Looks like the 225hp is more efficent, I wonder if the 250 would be better yet at the same rpm.
